EPA for students
This is the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's site for students. It has lots of interesting things to read and do to learn about the environment. For example, there is information on air, water, ecosystems, waste, recycling, pollution, and government. You can also find out about environmental internships, jobs, careers and awards.
Biodiversity
Biodiversity Web is a project containing information about the diversity of life on our planet earth (= biodiversity), its history (evolution) and ecological background, the major adverse human impacts on biodiversity and some important structural factors and material processes of biodiversity loss and the (juridical) protection of biodiversity. Its purpose is to make a contribution towards the knowledge of some important aspects of biodiversity and thus to the (legal) protection of biodiversity.

This site has some interesting topics. Just click "Environment" and you will be given a long list of links on different environmental subjects. The topics, "Urban sprawl" and "Water quality" has information and links that are relevant to the current project.

MadSci Network, the 24-hour exploding laboratory, is a collective cranium of scientists providing answers to your questions. For good measure we provide a variety of oddities and other ends as well.
USGS
The U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) Water Science for Schools web site offers information on many aspects of water, along with pictures, data, maps, and an interactive center where you can give opinions and test your water knowledge. For more information on water, you can go to http://water.usgs.gov/
Rivers
This site provided information about American rivers, and has the ability to link you to information about rivers in your community. The site includes other information like river tours, kayaking and rafting, and links to other river-minded organizations.
Doan Brook
The Shaker Lakes/Doan Brook watershed of Cleveland, Ohio is an important
environmental and cultural resource that suffers from typical urban watershed
problems; increased flow and decreased environmental quality. Ongoing
research projects are evaluating how the development of historic hydraulic
structures have lead to the current flood risks and structural damage.
